Housekeeper/Cook for Private Principal / in New York , New York

A private principal is seeking two trustworthy, discreet, and service-oriented Housekeeper/Cooks to provide seamless household support throughout the week. You will be responsible for meal preparation, household organization, inventory management, laundry, and overall apartment readiness. This is not a traditional housekeeping position focused on deep cleaning, nor is it a formal private chef role. Rather, the position centers on preparing simple, healthy meals while helping maintain a highly organized, well-stocked, and smoothly operating home.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare simple, healthy meals and meal prep
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen
• Manage groceries, beverages, snacks, and household inventory
• Assist with laundry, linens, towels, wardrobe upkeep, and household organization
• Receive packages and maintain overall apartment readiness
• Prepare the residence for guests and ensure readiness upon the principal's return
• Some days may involve dinner service, while others will just require meal preparation
• Coordinate errands, household projects, and inventory replenishment as needed
• Follow household systems, SOPs, and operational standards
• Coordinate closely with the EPA/Lifestyle Manager and fellow Housekeeper/Cook to ensure seamless coverage and communication

Requirements: 

• Previous experience in a private household, hospitality environment, luxury residence, yachting, or similar service-oriented setting preferred
• Comfortable preparing simple, healthy, repeatable meals rather than formal chef-driven cuisine
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Flexible and adaptable to changing household needs
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• High level of discretion, trustworthiness, and professionalism
• Positive attitude with a no-task-too-small mentality
• Low-ego, service-oriented approach

Schedule: 11:00AM – 8:00/10:00PM, with flexibility required. This is a rotational position shared with a second Housekeeper/Cook. The schedule is designed to provide seamless household coverage, with team members alternating between 3-day and 4-day workweeks (3 days on/4 days off, followed by 4 days on/3 days off).

Compensation: Up to $140K based on experience, healthcare stipend, PTO
