A warm, highly private family in New York City is seeking an experienced Rotational Newborn Care Specialist to support them as they welcome their first child. This engagement begins with a 3-month newborn contract with up to 24-hour daily coverage, 7 days on / 7 days off. For the right fit, there is strong potential to transition into a long-term infant caregiver role through 18–24 months. The family is looking for a calm, confident, and highly experienced professional who can operate independently, respect privacy and security protocols, and provide exceptional, evidence-based newborn care. Key Responsibilities:
Newborn Care

Ensure baby’s safety, health, and well-being at all times

Implement safe sleep practices aligned with current guidelines

Support feeding and sleep rhythm development

Monitor feeding patterns, diapering, and early developmental progress

Provide clear daily handoffs and routine tracking
Feeding & Overnight Support

Bring baby to mother for breastfeeding overnight and as needed

Support burping and resettling
-
Wash and prepare bottles
-
Clean and maintain pumping equipment
-
Keep feeding systems organized and ready
Maternal Support (First 30 Days)

Provide thoughtful recovery support, including ice, medications, food, and hydration

Anticipate postpartum needs with care and discretion
Environment & Organization

Maintain pristine baby-related spaces

Launder and replace linens as needed

Monitor inventory and proactively flag supply needs

Prepare stroller and diaper bag for daily walks and outings

Participate in baby + dog walks
Communication & Coordination

Provide concise, professional communication

Work independently with minimal supervision

Coordinate respectfully with parents and household staff

Strict adherence to NDA and security protocols
Qualifications:
Required
-
8+ years minimum professional newborn care experience
-
NCS certification
-
Extensive overnight and high-coverage schedule experience
-
Current Infant/Child CPR & First Aid

Up-to-date vaccinations
-
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Comfortable with dogs

Excellent verifiable reference

Clean background check
Preferred

RN or postpartum background

Gentle sleep training knowledge

Lactation support experience

Experience with first-time parents
Location: New York City (will provide temporary relocation and provide off-site housing during off weeks)
Schedule: 7 on 7 off; up to 24 hours per day, minimum guarantee of 12 hours per day
Compensation: 55-65/hr + OT, 1099, 3-month contract to begin, potential to extend and convert to W2 nanny position
